Review of Riffelalp Resort 2222m, Zermatt
Pros:
- Unmatched Location: The resort’s position high above Zermatt offers breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. It’s an incredible experience to wake up to such a view each day.
- Top-notch Facilities: The spa center is outstanding with its heated outdoor pool, selection of saunas, and a steam room. The wellness amenities are perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing or hiking.
- Exceptional Staff: The hospitality and professionalism of the staff are commendable. From the concierge to the ski rental team, everyone is extremely helpful and welcoming.
- Culinary Delights: The three on-site restaurants offer a variety of dining options, catering to different tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for fine dining, Italian cuisine, or local specialties, the quality and taste are impressive.
- Comfortable Accommodations: The rooms are well-appointed with modern amenities, yet retain a charming alpine vibe. The Nespresso coffee machine and Smart-TV add a touch of convenience and luxury.
- Family-Friendly: The resort offers baby and child care services upon request, making it an excellent choice for families.
Cons:
- Remote Location: While the remote location adds to the charm, it requires a train journey to reach the resort. The hotel provides a ticket for check-in and check-out, but any additional trips require purchasing a ticket or hiking.
- Limited Ski In-Out: The ski-to-door access wasn’t available during my stay, which was a bit disappointing for avid skiers.
- Short Stay: Only stayed for two nights, which felt too short given the plethora of activities and amenities available.
Overall, Riffelalp Resort 2222m offers an exceptional experience combining luxury, comfort, and stunning natural beauty. It’s a place I’d love to return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the Alps.
