Serenity Authentic Glamping Tulum, Xpu Ha – A True Nature Escape
Atmosphere and Ambiance
From the moment I arrived, the soothing atmosphere of Serenity Authentic Glamping Tulum was palpable. Nestled in the native jungle, the surroundings were lush and beautifully maintained. Walking through the grounds, I felt a sense of tranquility that is often hard to find. The occasional sight of the property piggy added a charming touch to the experience. The glamping tents are not just tents; they are luxurious retreats. Our tent was spacious, with a comfortable king-sized bed, a colonial-style desk, and a large mirror.
Comfort and Amenities
The accommodations were beyond my expectations. The tent was meticulously clean, and the private bathroom with a separate shower was a welcome luxury. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, promptly providing extra pillows when requested. The year-round outdoor pool and garden added to the serene experience, making it a perfect retreat for relaxation.
The Beach Experience
Xpu-Ha beach is just a short 3-5 minute walk from the property, offering pristine white sand and crystal blue waters. The beach club was a great place to unwind, with lounge chairs and even massages available. While some reviews mentioned walking to the beach being a bit far, I found it to be a pleasant stroll through beautiful surroundings.
Dining
The on-site restaurant, Mystique, had its ups and downs. While the breakfast was delightful, the lunch and dinner options could use some improvement. However, the beach club’s restaurant provided a much better dining experience, especially given the spectacular beach view. If you are a foodie, you might want to explore other dining options in the nearby Playa del Carmen.
Noise Levels
One downside was the noise at night. Despite being in a jungle setting, the proximity to the highway and neighboring resorts meant that traffic and music could be heard. Earplugs are provided, but light sleepers might find this an issue. The tents are quite close together, which can also add to the noise levels.
Overall Experience
Despite a few minor setbacks, my time at Serenity Authentic Glamping Tulum was overwhelmingly positive. It is a wonderful place to reconnect with nature while enjoying the comforts of a well-appointed retreat. The staff’s friendliness and the stunning beach nearby make it a destination worth visiting. I would definitely return, perhaps with a few more dining plans and noise-canceling headphones in my bag.

[+] We had a fantastic experience at the on-site restaurant, especially since we arrived late and were quite hungry. The tent/room exceeded our expectations; it was incredibly spacious, about three times the size of our previous glamping experiences, with a well-sized bed area and a bathroom. Our friends stayed in the family-sized room, and I posted a picture of their room because I couldn’t find one of ours. Although their room was smaller and had only one king bed, it was just as charming. The nearby beach was within walking distance and perfect for spending the afternoon, offering massages, food, and comfortable lounge chairs for swimming and relaxing.
[-] There was nothing to dislike! However, if you’re not a fan of nature and lizards, glamping might not be the best choice for you!

[+] Serenity offers a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. It’s just a short 3-5 minute walk to the amazing beach, which features a delightful beach club.
[-] The food at the hotel’s Mystique restaurant could be better. This wasn’t a major issue for me because I opted to have dinner at the beach club, which accepts last orders until around 5:00/5:30 PM.

[+] The hotel grounds were stunning, with well-maintained paths and very cozy tents. The room was spacious and spotless, and all the facilities were exceptionally clean. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful.
[-] However, the extra bed lacked sheets and a cover initially. We requested additional pillows and a cover, and they were promptly provided. The beach is a bit far from the hotel, so driving and parking is recommended. During peak months, parking might be full, making walking a better option.

The breakfast was excellent, and the beach was only a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

[+] The theme and ambiance here are fantastic. It’s a delight to stroll around the picturesque grounds with the occasional encounter with the property’s adorable piggy. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The beach was stunning, featuring white sand and clear, blue waters without any rocks or seagrass issues.
[-] I wanted to love this place. The ambiance, theme, rooms, and all common areas were beautiful. However, not being able to walk around with any food or drinks was a bit disappointing. The restaurants at both the hotel and beach club (essentially the same) were incredibly expensive and served the worst food we had during our entire 2-week trip in the Riviera Maya. Additionally, the grounds are very close to the highway, and the tents are packed closely together, making it quite noisy throughout our stay.

[+] The tent, the design, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the surroundings, and the beach were all fantastic!
[-] There was nothing we didn’t like; everything was perfect for us.

[+] This place has it all. The atmosphere is soothing, the location is excellent, the staff is outstanding, and the accommodations are both affordable and extremely comfortable. I’ve been a loyal visitor for years and absolutely love it!
[-] There’s nothing negative to say.

[+] The atmosphere here is fantastic—natural and calming, with a short walk to the beach where you’ll find restaurants and bars. The staff is excellent and very attentive, and the seafood is delicious. Plus, the adorable cats are a charming touch! 🐈
[-] It’s a bit remote and there’s some road noise.

[+] I love the facility and the beach. The beach and the beach club were amazing. Despite a few issues, I definitely plan to return to this place.
[-] I didn’t like the pillows. They were super eco-firm, which is a personal preference. However, in a hotel that claims to be 4 or 5 stars, there should be two types of pillows available on the bed. The mattress was also uncomfortable as you could feel the springs.
Another reviewer mentioned that sleeping there was an amazing experience because it felt like being in the middle of a rainforest at night. That description set my expectations very high, but unfortunately, it was not like that. It was quite loud during the night; you could hear heavy trucks from the street and club music echoing from the adults-only resort next door. They did provide earplugs, but if you don’t like noise, you might end up completely deaf in a dark tent room in the ‘middle of the rainforest,’ which doesn’t feel very safe. I stayed for 4 or 5 nights and didn’t sleep well even once.
Secondly, I didn’t enjoy the dinner. I had chicken pad thai. The meat was delicious, but the rest of the dish was overly salty and way too greasy. I also tried the four-cheese pizza, and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but it was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. It had a terrible premade crust and way too much aged blue cheese. The pizza was melted but cold when we got it.
Will I return to this place? Yes, despite these issues, I will come back.
