Staying at Turtle Bay Lodge was an unforgettable experience. The location is simply stunning, set right on the waterfront with easy access to both the coral reef and the serene bay. I particularly enjoyed kayaking to the Blue Holes, which was both a unique and breathtaking adventure. The outdoor pool provided a refreshing way to relax after a day full of activities.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The management team, Vicky and Mick, were always on hand to offer recommendations and help with booking activities. Their efforts to maintain a clean and bug-free environment were much appreciated.

The food at The Salty Dog Bar and Restaurant was delicious, with a great selection of local seafood, organic beef, and even pizzas. The complimentary continental breakfast with fresh tropical fruit and toast was a perfect start to each day.

The rooms were comfortable and offered beautiful sea views from the patio. Having a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in the room was a nice touch. The PADI Dive Center on-site is a fantastic addition for diving enthusiasts, offering daily dives on the East Coast of Santo.

While the dirt track leading to the lodge was a bit rough, it was a small price to pay for the incredible location and amenities. The only minor downside was the lack of nearby restaurants, but the quality of food at the lodge more than made up for it.

Overall, Turtle Bay Lodge is a gem in Santo. With its beautiful setting, friendly staff, and array of activities, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing yet adventurous getaway. Highly recommended!

[+] Our stay in the marquee was a wonderful glamping experience. Each morning, we woke up to the most incredible view of the bay. Vicky, Mick, and the team were exceptional hosts. The room was modern, clean, and equipped with an efficient air conditioning system. The bed was very comfortable. The included continental breakfast featured fresh tropical fruit, toast, and tea/coffee, which was a delightful start to the day. The restaurant served fresh, high-quality food, and the chef was outstanding. We spent a day diving through the hotel, and the gear provided was clean, new, and in excellent condition. Additionally, we rented a quad bike to explore the area.

[-] There wasn’t much to dislike. However, it would have been nice to have some local island cuisine available on the menu. This next point is unrelated to the hotel itself, but it’s worth mentioning that there are no other restaurants or cafes within walking distance. We took the quad bike into town, only to find that there wasn’t much to see or places to eat. The only dining options are at other hotels or resorts.

  6. Sxmate

The staff were extremely friendly, and we appreciated their efforts to maintain cleanliness and keep the place bug-free. The restaurant dinners were delightful. We loved having the option to kayak to three different blue holes directly from the hotel. Additionally, we appreciated the well-organized folder that listed all available activities along with their prices upfront. We would be happy to return!

[+] Our stay at Turtle Bay was absolutely wonderful. Vicky and Mick, the lovely managers, consistently checked in with us to ensure everything was going well and to assist with booking activities or offering recommendations. The food quality was exceptional, especially impressive for an island with potentially limited supplies; they managed to provide a diverse range of menu options. The staff were all incredibly friendly and it was evident that they enjoyed their work and were happy to be at Turtle Bay.

[-] Nothing, everything was fantastic. We’ve stayed at several resorts in Vanuatu and Turtle Bay stands out as one of the best in terms of location, facilities, and helpful staff.

  8. Walter

[+] The restaurant offers a very pleasant view and serves excellent food and cocktails.
[-] Access from the main road is challenging due to a very rough, potholed dirt track.
