My Stay at Turtle Inn, Placencia
Our stay at Turtle Inn was an incredible experience! From the warm and helpful staff to the beautiful surroundings, everything exceeded our expectations. Here are some highlights and a few suggestions:
- Staff and Service: The staff were simply amazing, always going above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. They were warm, accommodating, and remembered our names, which added a personal touch.
- Accommodation: The cottages and villas are spacious, beautifully furnished, and offer stunning views of the garden, pool, or sea. The rustic yet elegant décor provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
- Amenities: We loved the outdoor pool and the spa. The communal lounge was a great place to relax, and the free Wi-Fi in public areas was convenient. The private beach was a perfect spot for unwinding.
- Food: The food was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the variety of restaurants on the property, especially the pizza restaurant. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and filling.
- Activities: The tour desk was extremely helpful in arranging activities such as diving, sailing, and hiking. We had an amazing day snorkeling!
- Location: The property is conveniently located, with several restaurants, bars, and dive shops just a 5-minute drive away in the village of Placencia. The proximity to the Placencia Airstrip made travel easy.
Suggestions:
- It would be great if the units had more lighting at night, as it can be a bit dark inside.
- During our stay in August, the rooms were quite hot and muggy. The small air conditioner struggled to keep us cool at night, affecting our sleep. A more efficient cooling system would be appreciated.
- While the shell phone is a neat idea, it raises some privacy concerns as the front desk staff can listen in at any time. It would be better if it was more secure.
- Having the beach bar open a bit later, perhaps until 9pm, would be a nice addition.
Overall, our stay at Turtle Inn was fantastic. It’s a beautiful, relaxing resort with everything you need for a perfect getaway. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and luxurious vacation spot.

[-] The only drawback is that, unlike other places in Placencia, it doesn’t have a traditional sandy beach.

[-] It’s a fantastic location overall. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the units at night, as it can be a bit dim indoors after dark.

The property features private, comfortable, and well-equipped cottages and villas. The garden, which supplies ingredients for their outstanding dishes, is a lovely touch. The pools are spacious enough for multiple groups and maintained at the ideal temperature. Plus, the location is unbeatable, nestled between the ocean and the lagoon, just a mile bike ride from town.
[-] It has set the bar so high that other ocean-front properties just don’t measure up anymore.

[+] This beautiful resort has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Our cabin was spacious, comfortable, and adorned with stunning Balinese decor. The sea is just a one-minute walk away. The pizza restaurant is fantastic, and there are three other dining options available, all of which we tried and enjoyed. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend the Turtle Inn to everyone.

The property was stunning, and the staff exceeded expectations in every aspect. The restaurant offered delicious meals, and the pool and beach areas were impeccably maintained. We absolutely LOVED our entire experience at the Turtle Inn!

[+] I had a fantastic stay at the resort! The individual cottages were wonderfully spacious, providing the ideal setting to unwind and enjoy the luxurious space. The outdoor shower was a refreshing way to cool down in the evenings before bed. The service was exceptional, and the management clearly knows how to operate and maintain a stunning beach resort.
[-] There’s not much to criticize, but I do wish Booking.com would display more additional options. It would be helpful to know about optional outings or adventures that can be booked through the resort to enhance the stay even further.

[+] The landscaping is stunning, and the villas are impeccably clean and beautifully furnished. I appreciate that it’s a smaller resort, which means everything—restaurants, pools, beach—is conveniently close. The staff is extremely kind and helpful.
[-] We visited in August, and the rooms were unbearably hot and humid. The small air conditioner above the bed, which only starts cooling at night, was insufficient, making it impossible to sleep comfortably for six nights. This was a major issue for us, as no one wants to be uncomfortable and unable to sleep while on vacation! Additionally, the “shell phone” raised privacy concerns. It appears that the front desk staff can listen in on your room without your knowledge, not just when you contact them. Although it looks cool and is an interesting idea, it poses a significant privacy issue in my opinion.

Breakfast was delicious and conveniently delivered to our room every day. We were looking to unwind at the start of our vacation, and the Turtle Inn exceeded our expectations!
