    Review:

Staying at The Opposite House, Beijing, was a remarkable experience. Nestled in the heart of the vibrant Taikoo Li Sanlitun, the hotel’s location is unbeatable, offering an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment options just steps away. Designed by the acclaimed Kengo Kuma, the hotel seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with subtle Chinese décor, creating an ambiance that is both elegant and inviting.

The rooms are nothing short of spectacular. We stayed in one of the spacious studios, which boasted natural wooden floors and minimalist design, making it feel both luxurious and homely. The attention to detail in the room’s design was evident, and the amenities provided exceeded our expectations, including a complimentary mini bar and a fruit and nut plate upon arrival.

Service at The Opposite House is truly exceptional. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive room service, every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Special mentions go to Yvett, Lynn, and Joyce from the front reception for their kindness and efficiency.

The dining options at the hotel are outstanding. We particularly enjoyed breakfast, which was superb in both variety and quality. Jing Yaa Tang, the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant, offered some of the best Peking duck we’ve ever tasted, despite a couple of minor disappointments mentioned in other reviews. The Union bar, with its 1920s modernism vibe, served delightful cocktails that perfectly complemented our evenings.

If I had to point out any drawbacks, it would be the temperature of the pool, which my partner found a bit too cool, and the quality of the coffee at breakfast, which could be improved. Additionally, an early check-in option would have enhanced our staycation experience.

Overall, The Opposite House delivers a stellar hospitality experience that is hard to match. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family staycation, or a luxurious retreat, this hotel has it all. We look forward to returning soon!
